आज ज्यादातर स्कूल competency observations कैसे record करते हैं
Indore के एक CBSE स्कूल में अक्टूबर का बुधवार है। Class 5 की teacher Mrs Verma ने अभी एक group activity खत्म की है जिसमें उन्होंने बच्चों से एक class picnic plan करने को कहा था। उन्होंने ध्यान से देखा। Aanya ने planning lead की, दूसरों को सुना, और board पर bus route साफ-साफ बनाया। Rohan बीच-बीच में रोकता रहा पर सबसे creative idea उसी का था। तीन और बच्चे पूरे exercise में चुप बैठे रहे। Mrs Verma अपनी diary के पीछे कुछ notes जोत देती हैं — इस बात को जानते हुए कि तीन महीने बाद जब half-yearly NEP Holistic Progress Card due होगा, उन्हें इनमें से कुछ भी ठीक से याद नहीं होगा।

चार observer perspectives first-class हैं:
- Teacher — सबसे common observer। Class teacher, subject teacher या co-curricular teacher record करते हैं जो उन्होंने directly observe किया — class में, playground पर, lab में, या किसी project में।
- Self — student खुद अपनी competency को age-appropriate items पर rate करते हैं। metacognitive skills (self-management, self-discipline, self-awareness) के लिए use होता है।

- Parent — एक parent घर पर बच्चे को observe करता है। habits, responsibility, family involvement के लिए — वो चीज़ें जो teachers directly नहीं देख सकते।

चार observer perspectives — हर एक की अपनी validation
TEACHER observation के लिए teacher employee reference चाहिए। SELF observation के लिए student खुद observer होना चाहिए (जो system logged-in user के profile से enforce करता है)। PEER observation के लिए peer student academic reference चाहिए — और system enforce करता है कि peer observed student की classmate हो, teacher या अलग class का नहीं। PARENT observation के लिए student के family record से linked parent profile चाहिए।
DTO validators हर observer type पर @ValidateIf से ये rules apply करते हैं — आप TEACHER observation बिना teacher reference के store नहीं कर सकते, और PEER observation teacher reference के साथ store नहीं कर सकते। Audit trail capture करता है कि किसने observe किया (full name, employee ID या admission number) और कब — इसलिए board review के दौरान unambiguous रहता है कि किसने किसके बारे में क्या कहा।
Proficiency snapshots CBSE three-level rubric से align होते हैं
NEP और CBSE/SQAA frameworks दोनों three-level proficiency rubric use करते हैं: BEGINNER (बच्चा अभी competency demonstrate करना शुरू कर रहा है), PROGRESSIVE (बच्चा support के साथ या कुछ contexts में demonstrate कर सकता है), PROFICIENT (बच्चा independently consistently demonstrate करता है)। Inkwelly इस scale को observation record में bake करता है — free text के रूप में नहीं, एक enum के रूप में जो reports में flow होता है।

Term-end पर learning-outcome reporting. Marksheet latest observations से competency snapshot pull करती है। HPC वही data का learning-outcome view pull करता है। दोनों एक record set से ship होते हैं।
Year-end review. Limits, safety, और हर स्कूल को पूछने चाहिए वो छोटी-छोटी बातें
Observation data sensitive है — यह बच्चों के behaviour, abilities और growth capture करता है। नीचे दिए protections इसलिए हैं क्योंकि audit reviewers, parents और CBSE — सब के इस data को कैसे handle किया जाता है इस पर legitimate questions होते हैं।
Soft-delete history preserve करता है, सिर्फ field नहीं। जब कोई observation delete होता है, वो inactive mark होता है पर record (और उसका evidence) audit के लिए database में remain करता है। Reports isActive=true पर filter करती हैं इसलिए deleted observations aggregates पर influence करना छोड़ देते हैं। Principal deleted set review कर सकते हैं अगर board review के दौरान कोई सवाल उठे।
Peer observations parents के लिए anonymity default हैं। जब कोई parent अपने बच्चे की observations देखता है, peer observations में 'a classmate observed' दिखता है peer के नाम की जगह। वो स्कूल जो explicitly named peer observations चाहते हैं override कर सकते हैं, पर default peer की privacy को protect करता है।
Evidence files school के scoped हैं। एक स्कूल की observations के लिए upload किया photo दूसरे स्कूल से reference नहीं हो सकता। Storage paths per organisation per school per session scoped हैं, इसलिए unauthorised access attempt भी schools के across list नहीं कर सकता।
Paper trail के बिना कोई retroactive proficiency edit नहीं। Observation के हर change — proficiency, notes, evidence — timestamped और attributed होता है। Term-end report publish होने के बाद बच्चे की proficiency silently raise करने का कोई तरीका नहीं है।
Observations organisation, school और session के लिए scoped हैं। Academic session change पिछले साल के record set को pollute नहीं करता। Year-on-year comparison possible है क्योंकि records remain करते हैं, पर वे कभी silently merge नहीं हो सकते years के आर-पार — academic session ID हर record का एक part है।

हर observation का एक visibility flag है। Default पर, teachers या parent खुद द्वारा की गई observations parent-visible हैं; peer observations parent-visible हैं peer-anonymity के साथ (peer का नाम hidden); restricted observations (typically sensitive behavioural notes) staff-only हैं। स्कूल अपनी parent-engagement philosophy के हिसाब से default change कर सकते हैं। Visibility rule evidence पर भी apply होता है — अगर observation hidden है, उसका evidence भी hidden है।
क्या peer observations safe हैं? हमें डर है कि students ratings से bullying करेंगे।
Inkwelly कई safeguards enforce करता है। Peer observations default पर anonymity के साथ हैं (observed child नहीं देखता कि किसने rate किया, parent नहीं देखता कि किसने अपने बच्चे को rate किया)। Peer observations teacher के द्वारा gated हैं — वे 'pending review' queue में जाती हैं और class teacher decide करते हैं कि उन्हें official record में include करना है या नहीं। स्कूल चाहें तो peer observations पूरी तरह disable भी कर सकते हैं; system trust-rich classroom environments के लिए पहले designed है।

Single evidence files default पर 50 MB तक हो सकती हैं — यह standard quality में 1–2 minute video clip के लिए काफी है। जिन स्कूलों को ज्यादा चाहिए वे per-school override request कर सकते हैं (ज्यादातर नहीं करते)। Evidence Inkwelly के Mumbai servers पर upload होती है और observation record का part के रूप में long-term store होती है। Inkwelly की media library auto folder hierarchy create करती है per class, per competency — इसलिए स्कूल का media archive organised रहता है।
