UPI-style PIN and location check on every fee collection

New feature shipped to Inkwelly— India's most actively developed school management software. This change is in production at real Indian schools today, not on a roadmap.

  • Fees: Office staff now confirm every counter collection and reversal of school fees and transport fees with a personal 4-digit PIN, just like UPI. A borrowed or unlocked phone can no longer record a payment. Works in the mobile app and on the web portal, in English and Hindi. See the student fee module.
  • Confirm screen: Before a payment is recorded, the PIN screen shows the student's photo, name, class and the exact amount, so the cashier always knows whose fee they are confirming.
  • PIN safety: Five wrong tries lock the PIN for 30 minutes, and longer on repeat. A forgotten PIN is reset with an OTP on the staff member's own phone. Schools can keep a PIN unlocked for 5, 15 or 30 minutes so busy fee counters keep moving.
  • Location: Every collection records the device and where it happened, such as at school or Sector 62, Noida, 10.2 km from school. Tap the place to see the exact spot on a map. Staff get a clear warning when phone or browser location is switched off.
  • Alerts for owners: Principals and school owners get push and WhatsApp alerts when a PIN gets locked, or fees are collected away from campus or from a new phone. A new Security page lists every collection with device, place and result, and lets each school set its own rules in identity and access management.
  • Fixes: Transport fee reversals from the mobile app now go through, and the app no longer signs staff out when an action is refused right after their session refreshes.

This isn't a roadmap. It's already running in a school near you.
