admit a whole class from one Excel sheet
New feature shipped to Inkwelly— India's most actively developed school management software. This change is in production at real Indian schools today, not on a roadmap.
- Students: One sheet per class now creates the child, the class enrolment, the permanent address and both parents together, instead of four separate uploads in the right order. You pick the session and class on screen, so nobody types them into sixty rows. See the student information module.
- Ready-made sheet: Download an Excel template for the chosen class with dropdowns for gender, blood group, category and religion, and a reference sheet explaining every column. Only name, date of birth and gender are compulsory — student ID, admission number and roll number fill themselves in when your school has automatic numbering switched on.
- Switching from another ERP: Old exports work as they are. Headings like DOB, Adm No, Pincode or Father's Name are understood, and values like Boy, F, Gen or EWS are matched automatically. Aadhaar and mobile numbers that Excel has mangled are flagged instead of being saved wrong.
- Nothing half-saved: Every row is either created in full or reported with the reason in plain English, so no child is left without parents or a class. Check the whole file first without saving anything, and re-uploading a corrected sheet never creates duplicate children.
This isn't a roadmap. It's already running in your competitor's school.
Every update on the Inkwelly changelog is in production at real Indian schools today. If you're tired of ERP vendors who promise features for “next quarter”, let's talk. We run a 90-day paid pilot with a pro-rata refund and full data export.
