chase unpaid late fees on school and bus fee bills
New feature shipped to Inkwelly— India's most actively developed school management software. This change is in production at real Indian schools today, not on a roadmap.
- Fees: A new Notify parents button on the late fees screen sends the late-fee notice again to every family whose bill still carries an unpaid fine — everyone at once or one class at a time, on WhatsApp, SMS, email or the app. Until now that notice went out once, when the fine first appeared, and a fine standing for weeks was never mentioned again. See the student fee module.
- Transport: The same button on the bus fee late-fee screen, working exactly the same way, so both money screens now read and behave as one product.
- Before you send: The screen shows how many families will actually be reached and why that number differs from the overdue count, warns when quiet hours would hold everything until morning, and flags a channel that is not connected or has run out of allowance for the day. Afterwards it reports in plain English what did not get delivered — families who opted out, numbers not on file, daily limits hit.
- One message per family: A family several installments behind now hears about their oldest unpaid bill once, instead of receiving three near-identical messages in the same minute.
- Communications: Fixed the channel picker across the product. Choosing only WhatsApp on a send dialog used to be quietly ignored, and messages went out on whatever channels the school had switched on behind the scenes. This affects fee reminders, sending an invoice or receipt, transport and hostel.
- Late fees screen: Fixed the overdue count on school fees, which was under-reporting defaulters. It counted only bills already stamped overdue and missed unpaid bills that were past their due date, so the figure at the top disagreed with the list underneath it.
This isn't a roadmap. It's already running in your competitor's school.
