• Staff attendance: Teachers and staff can now check in from the Inkwelly app only when the phone's front camera sees their own face, live. A random head turn, a photo-and-screen check and a match with their approved face stop a colleague from punching in on someone else's phone. Set it up in the staff attendance module.
• Face registration: Staff register their face in the app after reading a short consent note in English or Hindi, and a principal or admin approves it. Admins are notified of every new face and can also approve their own.
• Blocked check-ins: When a face check blocks someone on a bad-light morning or a new phone, they tap Ask admin to approve. The approved punch keeps the original time, so nobody is marked late for it.
• Three security levels: Schools pick Free, Smart or Bank-grade. Free runs on Inkwelly's own servers at no extra cost; Smart and Bank-grade add a certified live-face check (iBeta Level 1 and 2 tested) for schools that want the strongest proof, within monthly limits.
• Privacy: Face photos stay in a private, locked store — never the media library — and are deleted on a fixed schedule. Staff can withdraw consent from the app and their face data is erased straight away, in line with India's DPDP Act.
• Smooth rollout: A face required from date gives staff a practice period in which a failed check only flags the punch, and older app versions keep checking in with a selfie until that date.
• Mobile check-in: A quick double tap on Check in no longer records two punches, for every school using mobile attendance.
