Staff attendance: Schools using phone check-in can now switch on auto-absent. Staff who have not checked in — by phone, biometric machine or office entry — by their department's "Full-day absent after" time are marked absent, so no day stays "not marked" and payroll counts it. Fair to staff: Holidays, week-offs, approved leave, work-from-home and on-duty days are skipped, and each teacher's own working hours and short leave move their time. A check-in after the cutoff still counts as absent, and the teacher gets an app notification the moment they are marked.
Safety check: If half or more of the expected staff have not checked in at once — usually a phone or network problem, not a mass absence — nothing is marked. Principals get an alert to mark them absent or skip the day, and one tap undoes a day's auto-absent marks.
Easy setup: Before switching on, principals see every department's cutoff time and a live preview of who would be marked today, in Hindi and English. New departments no longer come with a 12:00 absent time filled in by default.
