let schools choose which bills a fee reminder covers
New feature shipped to Inkwelly— India's most actively developed school management software. This change is in production at real Indian schools today, not on a roadmap.
Fees: Fee reminders now cover only overdue bills by default, so parents no longer get a WhatsApp nudge in October for an instalment due in January. Office staff can pick Overdue, Due soon (7, 15 or 30 days) or All unpaid, and narrow by instalment or last year's dues in the student fee module.
One family: Reminding a single student opens a list of that child's unpaid bills. Overdue bills come ticked; reminding about an upcoming instalment is always a deliberate choice.
Clear preview: Before anything is sent, staff see how many families and how many messages will go out, a warning when a family will get several, and bills already reminded in the last 24 hours are skipped.
Scheduled reminders: A reminder scheduled for later checks the bills again on the day it goes out, so an instalment that falls due in between is included.
Defaulter list: Each family now shows the overdue amount first, separate from fees that are not due yet.
AI assistant: Understands requests like "sirf overdue walon ko reminder bhejo", "agle hafte jinki fees due hai" and "2nd installment ka reminder", in English and Hindi.
