Automatic Alerts screen module के हिसाब से grouped है। School dashboard में Communications section खोलें, 'Automatic Alerts' click करें, और सबसे ऊपर Student Fee दिखेगा (fee paid, payment link shared, payment link reminder, fine added), फिर Attendance (child absent), फिर Examinations (result published, admit card issued), फिर Homework। आज करीब दस events out of the box हैं, हर एक school life के real moment से tied है। नए events automatically screen पर आजाते हैं जैसे-जैसे Inkwelly के product modules वो ship करते हैं — school को कुछ करने की ज़रूरत नहीं, सिवाय चानल pick करने के।

Alerts screen use में कैसी दिखती है
Defaults की तीन layers — platform, group, school
हर alert के तीन layers of decision हैं। Platform level पर Inkwelly sensible defaults ship करता है जो average Indian school के लिए काम करते हैं — fee receipts WhatsApp + Email + Push पर, attendance WhatsApp + Push पर, homework Push पर, admit cards WhatsApp + Email पर। एक school group (DPS chain, Vidya group, state-board chain) group level पर अपने defaults set कर सकता है ताकि हर branch curated base से शुरू हो — जैसे 'हम हमेशा fee receipts के लिए SMS भेजते हैं क्योंकि आधे parents WhatsApp use नहीं करते'। Individual schools local reality के हिसाब से किसी भी row को override कर सकते हैं — low-income area की branch SMS off कर सकती है cost बचाने के लिए, या boarding school admit cards के लिए Email on कर सकता है क्योंकि parents दूर रहते हैं।
Idle vs Failed — dashboard सच बताता है
Alert के सारे channels off कर दें तो वह Idle हो जाता है — school ने deliberately चुना कि यह event नहीं भेजा जाएगा। यह feature है, bug नहीं; UPI-heavy collection चलाने वाले Indian school के पास SMS receipts को mute करने के कई reasons हो सकते हैं। Idle clean state है। Failed अलग है — alert on है, channel ticked है, लेकिन message land नहीं हो रहा। हो सकता है WhatsApp template Meta approval pending हो; DLT registration mid-renewal हो; email provider quota से ऊपर चला गया हो। Alerts screen दोनों states को अलग pills के साथ surface करती है, और 'Needs attention' tab हर वह row list करता है जहाँ school admin को कुछ करना है। Inkwelly में silence कभी accidental नहीं होता — अगर message नहीं जा रहा, dashboard बता देता है।
Quiet hours default से lagti hain — parents सोएँ, OTP अभी भी जाएगा

हर automatic alert में एक audience setting होती है: सिर्फ parents, सिर्फ student, या दोनों। Finance events के लिए platform default 'parents only' है — जो fees भर रहे हैं वे receipt देखें। Academic events (marksheet, admit card, homework) के लिए default 'student first, fall back to parents' है — अगर student के पास school-recorded phone या email है तो उसे alert जाएगा, नहीं तो parents को। School किसी भी alert पर इसे flip कर सकता है। Boarding school typically हर चीज़ student के school account पर route करता है; primary school हर चीज़ parents को route करता है। Inkwelly कभी silently alert drop नहीं करता क्योंकि student के पास phone नहीं — fallback rule का मतलब है कि कम से कम एक person को खबर जाती है।

Limits, safety और small print
Inkwelly जो events ship करता है वही हैं जिनका producer product code में actually है — current release में करीब दस। School को UI से नए event types invent करने नहीं देते, क्योंकि हर नए event को एक tested template, recipient resolver, producer जो सच में fire करे, और audit trail चाहिए। Schools कभी-कभी 'custom alert' माँगते हैं (जैसे 'Class 8 के सारे parents को WhatsApp भेजो जब भी teacher कोई भी document upload करे'); इसके लिए सही tool messages section में broadcast composer है, automatic alerts screen नहीं। Bespoke automation वहाँ; standardised automation यहाँ।

Finally, alert एक phone call का replacement नहीं है जब parent को actually act करना हो। अगर student consistently leave note के बिना absent रह रहा है, system daily absentee alert fire करता रहेगा — लेकिन class teacher को भी किसी point पर parent को call करना होगा। Automatic alerts office staff को time बचाकर देते हैं high-value calls करने के लिए; वे replace नहीं करते। जो school alerts screen को पूरी parent-communication strategy समझते हैं, वे चुपचाप उन parents से touch खो देंगे जो सबसे important हैं। सही framing यह है: routine messages automate किए जाएं ताकि human attention non-routine पर जा सके।

क्या automatic alerts parent consent (DPDP Act) respect करते हैं?
हाँ। हर alert जाने से पहले Inkwelly के consent layer से render होता है। Utility alerts (fee receipts, attendance, results, admit cards) service messages माने जाते हैं और तब तक चलते हैं जब तक parent school का customer है। Promotional alerts (newsletters, fundraisers) explicit opt-in चाहिए और parent के consent withdraw करते ही pause हो जाते हैं। School alerts screen से इसे bypass नहीं कर सकता।
क्या alerts quiet hours में काम करते हैं?
Non-OTP alerts school की quiet-hours window (default 9 p.m. से 8 a.m. IST) respect करते हैं। School या तो message drop कर सकता है, या अगले out-of-window slot तक defer कर सकता है — default behaviour defer है। Login OTPs और authentication codes quiet hours bypass करते हैं, क्योंकि parents को रात में locked out नहीं होना चाहिए।
