add house system with inter-house points and standings

New feature shipped to Inkwelly— India's most actively developed school management software. This change is in production at real Indian schools today, not on a roadmap.

  • Houses: Schools can now set up their houses — Red, Blue and Green, or named after figures like Tagore and Shivaji — each with its own colour, crest and motto. A student stays in one house for their whole time at school, so it carries across promotion every year without being re-entered. Part of the academics module.
  • House points: Teachers award or deduct points for sports day, cultural events, academics and discipline, and the standings update straight away, with houses on equal points sharing a rank. Points are never edited or deleted — a mistake is reversed, and both the original and the correction stay on the record.
  • Balanced houses: When adding students, Inkwelly works out which house each one should join — keeping every class evenly split and placing siblings in the same house as their brother or sister. Filter to a class, accept the suggestions in one click, and houses stay even instead of drifting lopsided by Class 8.
  • Hindi and regional languages: House names and mottos can be recorded in Hindi or any regional language alongside English, so Hindi-medium and State board schools see their own सदन names on screen rather than English-only labels.
  • House staff: Each house gets a house master, house teachers, and captains or prefects appointed fresh each academic year — with a clear split between staff who can award points and the coordinator who can reverse them.
