choose which invoice a discount or fine applies to

New feature shipped to Inkwelly— India's most actively developed school management software. This change is in production at real Indian schools today, not on a roadmap.

  • Fee discounts: A concession now comes off the invoice you pick, and sits as Not billed until someone adds it to a bill when none is open yet. Earlier, a discount recorded after the invoice went out left that invoice untouched, so parents were still asked for the full amount. See the student fee module.
  • Fines: A damage, library or uniform fine can now be added to a bill the parent already has, instead of always raising a separate one. Office staff can also move a fine between invoices, or hold it back until the next term's bill is ready.
  • Accurate concession amounts: A fixed-rupee concession is now given once across the session instead of repeating on every installment, where it could add up to many times the intended amount. Every invoice also names the concessions behind each fee head, so staff can explain any bill to a parent on the spot.
  • Fee summary: A student's outstanding amount is now worked out from their actual invoices, so the fee summary and the invoice list always agree. Accountants get one number they can trust, with any not-yet-billed concessions and fines listed separately.
