hold a salary, skip an employee, or add one-off amounts
New feature shipped to Inkwelly— India's most actively developed school management software. This change is in production at real Indian schools today, not on a roadmap.
- Payroll: School accountants can now withhold one employee's salary while paying everyone else, or leave someone out of a month's pay run entirely. A withheld salary still counts towards PF, ESI and TDS and stays in that month's returns, so statutory filings remain correct.
- One-off earnings and deductions: Add a festival bonus, incentive or uniform recovery to a single payslip for one month, without touching the employee's salary structure. Each entry records who added it and why. See the payroll module.
- Staff loans: Cancelling or re-running a monthly payroll now returns any instalment to the schedule and restores the outstanding balance on salary advances and staff loans.
- Payroll records: Approving, disbursing or holding a payment now records which staff member did it, so every payroll action has a name against it.
This isn't a roadmap. It's already running in your competitor's school.
Every update on the Inkwelly changelog is in production at real Indian schools today. If you're tired of ERP vendors who promise features for “next quarter”, let's talk. We run a 90-day paid pilot with a pro-rata refund and full data export.
