The school day comes to your phone. You stop opening dashboards.

Briefings send the numbers you care about to the people who need them — staff attendance at 11, the day's collection at 6, a message the moment a fee is paid — without anyone logging in to look.

Briefings

What shipped

Most principals check the day the same way: open the laptop, open a dashboard, read four numbers, close the laptop. Briefings turns that around. You decide what you want to know, who should know it and when — and it arrives as a message.

A briefing is one message, about one thing, to one person. The principal can get staff attendance at 11 in the morning. The accountant can get the day's collection at 6 in the evening. The owner can get a message the moment any fee is received. None of them has to log in for it, and none of them sees anything they are not already allowed to see.

In this release

  • Four things to start with: staff attendance, student attendance, fee collection, and a payment alert that goes out the moment money is received.
  • Every one of them comes in more than one shape. Staff attendance can arrive as a single line, as the list of who is missing and who came late, as a picture card you can forward to the staff group, or as a full PDF register with in and out times.
  • Fee collection can arrive as today's total, as the cash, online and cheque split, as a collection card, or as a printable day book carrying every receipt of the day.
  • Student attendance can arrive as the present percentage, as the list of classes still not marked, as a colour-coded board of every class, or as a class-wise PDF report.
  • You set the time and the days — 6:30 in the evening, Monday to Saturday, and skip Sundays and school holidays on its own.
  • Payment alerts can be filtered to only above a certain amount, or only cash and UPI, so a busy fee counter does not fill the owner's phone.
  • Assign one person at a time or a whole group at once, and copy an existing person's briefings onto a new principal in one step.
  • Before you assign anything, Inkwelly shows how many messages a month that person will actually receive.

Choose by reading the message, not a description

Briefings opens on a marketplace, and every design is shown as the message it will actually send — a WhatsApp bubble, an email or a phone notification, carrying your school's real figures. You pick the one you would want to receive.

One screen shows who receives what, so you can pause, change or remove any briefing. Another shows every message that went out, and lets you open any of them to see exactly what that person got on their phone.

See it on your own school's numbers

Before you turn anything on, we will set up one briefing with you on a short call and send it to your phone.

Frequently asked

3 questions
Do staff need to install the app to receive briefings?

No. A briefing can go to WhatsApp or email, and both work without the app. The app notification is simply one more option, useful for people who already keep Inkwelly on their phone.

Can a teacher end up seeing fee figures they should not?

No. A briefing carries only what that person is already allowed to see in Inkwelly. If someone does not have access to fee figures, the fee briefing cannot be assigned to them, and if their access is removed later the briefing stops on its own.

What happens on Sundays and school holidays?

You choose. Each briefing can skip your weekly off and the holidays on your school calendar, so nobody gets an attendance message on a day the school is shut. Payment alerts ignore the calendar, because money is sometimes received on a holiday too.
