Daily School Reports: The numbers. On WhatsApp.
Student and staff attendance in the morning, the day's fee collection in the evening, and an alert the moment a payment comes in — on WhatsApp, for the principal, the owner and the trustees. Nobody counts, types or calls.
What is a school briefing?
The day's numbers. Sent to you.
A school briefing is a short report that Inkwelly writes from the school's own data and sends by itself — on WhatsApp, email or the Inkwelly app — at the time you set. There are briefings for student attendance, staff attendance and the day's fee collection, and an instant alert for every fee payment. Each comes in the design you pick: one line, a list, a picture or a PDF.
Also called an automatic daily report, a principal's daily report or an MIS report on WhatsApp.

Why principals and owners switch to automatic daily reports
Calls. Counting. Chasing. Or four messages.
Without briefings, someone in the office counts and types the day's numbers — late, and only when asked. With Inkwelly, they arrive on their own.
How most schools do it today
The office counts. The principal calls. The trustee waits.
- The principal asks the office how many children came — and waits
- Classes that never sent attendance are found out later in the day
- Nobody tells the principal which teachers are absent until assembly
- The owner phones the accountant every evening for the collection
- Cash, UPI and cheques are totalled by hand at closing
With Inkwelly
The numbers come to you, at the time you set.
- Student attendance arrives at 10 — present %, absent and on leave
- The same message names the classes not marked yet
- The staff briefing names who is absent, on leave or late
- The owner gets the day's collection at 6 pm on WhatsApp
- The evening split shows cash, online and cheque, already worked out
Daily school reports on WhatsApp for the principal
Your school's day. In four messages.
Attendance in the morning, a payment the moment it lands, the money at six. Each one is a briefing the principal picked — and nobody in the office typed a number.
Sample school. Each briefing comes at the time you set — on WhatsApp, email or the Inkwelly app.
Choose how each report looks: one line, a list, a picture or a PDF
Same numbers. Your design.
Every topic has its own designs. The owner reads one line, the accountant wants the split, the trustees like the picture, the auditor wants the PDF — each person gets the one that suits them.

Send school reports to the owner and trustees on WhatsApp — no login
Owners and trustees. No app. No login.
Add the owner, a trustee, a director or the CA by name and mobile number. Then assign them a briefing as you would a member of staff — it arrives on WhatsApp, and they never get a login.
Sample school. Outside contacts are added by name and mobile number, with their consent, and never get a login to the portal or the app.
Instant fee payment alerts for the school owner
One payment. Everywhere it should be.
When Vihaan Malhotra's father pays at the counter, the family gets the receipt, the owner hears about it, and the evening reports count it — without anyone forwarding anything.
- 11:20 amCash · ₹14,600
Paid at the counter
Neha Kapoor collects the Oct–Dec fee for Vihaan Malhotra, Class 9-A, and records it.
- 11:20 amReceipt on WhatsApp
Receipt to the family
The family gets the receipt from Student Fees as soon as the payment is recorded.
- 11:20 amPayment alert
Owner told
It's above the owner's ₹5,000 line, so the alert goes: the amount, the child, the mode, the receipt and what's still due.
- 6:00 pm₹4,86,200 · 41 payments
In the evening split
The principal's 6 pm briefing counts it in the day's total and the cash line.
- 6:00 pmDay book (PDF)
In the day book
The accountant's PDF lists it with the time, the receipt number and who received it.
WhatsApp reports in English or Hindi, in lakh and crore, for Indian schools
Made for Indian schools. And the people who run them.
The channel, the language and the numbers Indian schools work with — already there.
WhatsApp, from your number
Briefings come from your school's own WhatsApp Business number — the app owners and trustees already open.
English or Hindi
Each person reads their briefings in English or Hindi. An outside contact's language is set when you add them.
Lakh and crore

Briefings connected to attendance, fees, the calendar and permissions
Attendance and fees in. One message out.
A briefing never asks anyone to type. It reads attendance and fees as they are, follows the school calendar and each person's permissions, and goes out through Communications.

A short report that Inkwelly writes from the school's own data and sends by itself — on WhatsApp, email or the Inkwelly app — at the time you set. There are briefings for student attendance, staff attendance and the day's fee collection, and an instant alert for every fee payment.
Student Attendance, Staff Attendance and Fee Collection go out on a schedule; Payment Received goes out the moment a fee payment is recorded. Each has its own designs — 13 in all.
Yes. Pick Every day, Mon–Sat, Weekdays or any days you like, and a time on the hour or half-hour, in school time. Turn on Skip holidays and nothing is sent on school holidays and weekly offs.
Today's present %, how many students are in out of how many, the absent and on-leave counts, the classes that haven't marked attendance yet and the lowest classes. Other designs show the whole school as a colour-coded picture or a class-wise PDF.
Who is absent, who is on leave (with the leave type) and who came late, by name, with the headcount. Other designs give just the number, a picture board or the day's full register as a PDF.
The day's total and number of payments and the month so far — and, depending on the design, the largest payment, the cash / online / cheque split with cheques still to clear, a picture card, or a day book PDF with every receipt.
Yes. The Payment Received briefing sends one message the moment a payment is recorded — the amount, the child, the class, the mode, the receipt and the balance still due. Set a minimum amount or pick payment modes to hear only about the ones that matter.
Yes. Add them as an outside contact with their name, mobile number, who they are (owner, trustee, director, CA…) and their language, and confirm they have agreed to receive the messages. They get a one-time welcome on WhatsApp and then the briefings you assign.
No. Their briefings arrive on WhatsApp, and they never get access to the portal or the app. A school can have up to 25 active outside contacts.
WhatsApp, email and push notifications in the Inkwelly app. Each channel you pick gets its own copy. Briefings don't go by SMS.
Yes — the school's WhatsApp number has to be connected in Communications. Until it is, those briefings arrive on the other channels you picked, and Activity shows why WhatsApp was skipped.
Only people whose role can already see that data — for example, the fee collection briefing needs the See Fee Totals permission. Outside contacts get only what an admin who can see that data assigns them.
Yes. Under My Briefings, in the portal or the Inkwelly staff app, staff can pick any design their role can see, choose the channels and the schedule, pause it or unsubscribe.
Yes. Every design in the marketplace shows a live preview built from today's real data, and Send me a test delivers one to you straight away.
Open Activity. Every delivery is listed as Delivered, Partial, Failed or Skipped, with the reason — like a missing phone number or a channel that isn't set up. View message shows exactly what was sent, and Resend sends it again.
Briefings go to each person on their own, so everyone gets their own message. The picture designs — the class board, the staff attendance board and the collection card — are made to be forwarded to a staff or family group.
Yes. Copy briefings from a person gives anyone the same briefings someone already has, in one step.
Yes. Pause stops it without losing the set-up, and Resume starts it again.
Yes. Every briefing has an English and a Hindi version, and each person — staff or outside contact — gets theirs in their own language.
Briefings comes with the Premium plan, at ₹199 per student per year (GST extra). Plans run ₹49–₹199 per student per year, with ₹0 migration, training and setup.
