For · State boards

School ERP for state board schools. In the language your school runs in.

State board schools are the largest part of Indian education and the worst served by school software, which tends to be built in English for metro private schools and translated afterwards, if at all.

Language first, not language later

A teacher who thinks in Marathi should not have to work in English to mark a register. In Inkwelly the teacher app, the parent messages and the printed records all run in the language you choose — Hindi, Marathi, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, Bengali, Gujarati, Punjabi, Malayalam, Urdu or English.

That extends to names and addresses, which is where most software gives up. A student's name can be held in Devanagari and in English on the same record, so the report card reads correctly to a parent and the board paperwork reads correctly to the board.

Boards we work with

  • Maharashtra (SSC and HSC), with Marathi across teacher and parent surfaces.
  • Uttar Pradesh Board, in Hindi.
  • Karnataka (SSLC and PUC), in Kannada.
  • Tamil Nadu State Board, in Tamil.
  • Gujarat (GSEB), in Gujarati.
  • Rajasthan (RBSE) and Madhya Pradesh (MPBSE), in Hindi.
  • West Bengal (WBBSE and WBCHSE), in Bengali.
  • Kerala, in Malayalam. Andhra Pradesh and Telangana, in Telugu.

The records the state actually asks for

Transfer certificates in your state's format, numbered in a register you can produce at inspection. Admission and withdrawal registers, attendance registers, and the student and staff data in the shape UDISE+ expects.

Where your state regulates fees, the fee schedule can be published for parents and for the file, so what a parent is charged and what you have on record are the same document.

Fees, for how state board parents actually pay

  • UPI first — it's how most families pay, and it reconciles automatically.
  • Cash and cheque recorded properly, with receipts printed on the spot and cheque bounces tracked.
  • Part payments and instalments against a single invoice, because full-term payment often isn't realistic.
  • RTE students handled as their own category, with the reimbursement paperwork traceable.
  • Sibling and staff-ward concessions applied by rule rather than by memory.

Frequently asked

Is the whole system in our language, or just the parent messages?

The whole thing, as far as your teachers and parents are concerned — the teacher app, parent messages, report cards and printed records. That's the part that decides whether staff use it.

Can we hold student names in our script and in English?

Yes, both on the same record. The report card and the parent message read in your script; board paperwork and exports read in English. Nobody retypes anything.

How do you handle RTE students?

As their own category, with fee treatment set accordingly and records kept in a form you can hand over when reimbursement is claimed or audited.

Most of our parents pay in cash.

That's expected and it's properly supported — receipts printed at the counter, entries against the right invoice, and a day book that reconciles. UPI is offered to the families who want it, not imposed on the ones who don't.

Our teachers have never used school software.

That's the common case for state board schools and it's what the teacher app is designed around. Attendance and marks, one screen, under a minute, in their language, on the phone they already own. A full day of on-site training at go-live, then WhatsApp support through the first month.

How quickly can we go live?

Go-live can be the next working day. You pick the date; we don't need months of parallel running to get there. Bringing across years of historical records — old marks, past fee ledgers, archived certificates — runs on its own track afterwards and doesn't hold up day one.

What does Inkwelly cost?

₹49–₹199 per student per year, flat at any school size — no enrolment slabs and no per-module upsell. A 500-student school on the middle plan is about ₹49,500 a year. Migration, training and setup are ₹0. The only external costs are WhatsApp message fees and your payment gateway's transaction charge, both billed at cost.
