School management for IB World Schools. PYP, MYP and DP, each on its own terms.
The three IB programmes assess in three genuinely different ways, and software that treats them as one gradebook makes every one of them harder. Inkwelly keeps them separate, because the board does.

Three programmes, three models
PYP doesn't grade in the conventional sense. It runs on units of inquiry under the transdisciplinary themes, with the learner profile and approaches to learning recorded as evidence rather than scores, and the exhibition in the final year. Inkwelly records it that way instead of forcing a percentage.
MYP is criterion-based. Each subject group carries its criteria, each marked on its own band, and the subject grade comes from the criteria rather than an average of tests. Teachers enter against criteria; the grade follows.
DP runs on the seven-point scale across six subject groups at higher and standard level, plus the core. Theory of Knowledge and the Extended Essay contribute their bonus points, CAS is tracked as a completion requirement, and the total resolves against 45.
What DP coordinators use most
- Predicted grades captured per subject and released for university applications on your timetable, not the software's.
- TOK and Extended Essay progress tracked with supervisor meetings and deadlines against each student.
- CAS recorded as an ongoing requirement across the two years, with evidence attached.
- Internal assessment deadlines per subject, with the chase-list a coordinator actually needs.
- Mock results held separately from predicted grades, so the two never get confused.
The part that's the same as any school
IB schools still admit students, collect fees, run buses, pay staff and talk to parents. That side is where most IB schools are actually losing time, because the academic tooling gets the attention and the office is left on spreadsheets.
Fees run across every Indian gateway with direct bank reconciliation and Tally export, and international families can be billed in a foreign currency where you need it. Parent communication is WhatsApp-first in India and email where families are abroad, with the same content either way.
Frequently asked
Does the MYP model actually work, or is it percentages with a different label?
Criteria are first-class. Teachers assess against each criterion on its own band and the subject grade is derived from those — not a percentage relabelled. If your current system makes teachers compute backwards from a total, that's the difference you'll notice first.
How are PYP students reported on?
Through units of inquiry, learner profile attributes and approaches to learning, with evidence and teacher commentary rather than scores. The exhibition is recorded in the final year. Parents get a report that reads like PYP, not a mark sheet.
Can we manage predicted grades separately from mocks?
Yes, and they're deliberately distinct records. Mocks are results; predicted grades are a judgement, entered per subject and released when you decide.
We run DP alongside an Indian board on the same campus.
Common, and it works. Each programme keeps its own assessment model, report format and fee schedule under one school, so a DP cohort and a CBSE cohort don't have to pretend to be the same thing.
Multi-currency fees for international families?
Supported where you need it, alongside rupee billing for domestic families.
How quickly can we go live?
Go-live can be the next working day. You pick the date; we don't need months of parallel running to get there. Bringing across years of historical records — old marks, past fee ledgers, archived certificates — runs on its own track afterwards and doesn't hold up day one.
What does Inkwelly cost?
₹49–₹199 per student per year, flat at any school size — no enrolment slabs and no per-module upsell. A 500-student school on the middle plan is about ₹49,500 a year. Migration, training and setup are ₹0. The only external costs are WhatsApp message fees and your payment gateway's transaction charge, both billed at cost.
